Is this just a place of mockery?.........?

It's true that the negative outnumber the positive but you have already overcome a hurdle by staying sober, so ignore the negative and stay on your path of sobriety. I'm not Christian, or religious for that matter, but if believing in Jesus has helped you, then I'm glad you have faith, and no one should mock or take that away from you.
