Romantic dinner in NYC?

My husband and I are staying around w 56th and 7th and looking for a great place for dinner. Romantic, somewhat upscale, maybe walking distance. Everyone has been suggesting some beautiful Italian Restaurants, and unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of Italian. Any suggestions?
