How much does a house cost?

Please, I want to know how much does a house cost. Im married with no children, and make in total an annual income of $200,000 Dollars. I always pay my credit card in time. What is the most expensive house that I can afford? Please answer the MOST GENERAL as you can. I know it depends on taxes and states, etc. Just approximation of the most expensive house I can afford in numbers. Thanks!
