HP Photosmart R725 says card is unreadable..HELP!?

a message appeared "Card has wrong format" I tried reformatting the card and then received a message. "Card is unreadable" Purchased a new card but am getting the same results. When the camera is formatting the card after 1-2 minutes the screen goes black and the camera will not shut off without removing the battery.
