Does age difference really matter?

Well recently I've became friends with a guy, only met him yesterday though and I think we both really like eachother, we have banter, hit eachother (messing about obv), smile at eachother, look at eachother, so its pretty obvious we both like eachother, although hes 13 and im 16 :/ does age difference really matter?
